About Me: My family and I live in Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. While originally from Columbus, Indiana, I grew up all over the world, including Brussels, Madrid, and Mexico City. My parents showed me the world, and made me fall in love with travel. Fortunately my work as a marketing professional in publishing gives me the chance to visit cities all over the United States (including Orlando!). I love soccer, travel, and helping friends and family plan their Walt Disney World vacations!

About My Family: My name is Doug I. and I am the proud father of two Disney princesses! My wife and daughters and I live in Carmel, Indiana, and I work in educational publishing. We love to take the girls swimming, to soccer, and anything else that gets them outside having fun. I grew up all around the world, but can think of nowhere better to vacation than Disney World. Our love of Disney World isn't reserved to the four of us! We visit with my mom and my brother's family too. My nieces and I compare notes on the best pools, the coolest attractions, and the best restaurants.

About My Disney Experience: I have been visiting Walt Disney World regularly since it opened when I was just 5, stopping there every time our family came home to the States during summer break. I have visited more times than I can count, including the trip where I proposed to my wife. For us it is not just about the parks, but the perks too. We love having new restaurants to try, and love trying out all the resorts as well.

Question I am going to Disney World on June 7th. And I am stating at Disney Caribbean Resort. I know is so big that some time it takes 45 minutes to get to the parks. It's that right? Do you know which is the first stop the bus make in the resort? Thanks you.

- Asked by Humberto on 5/17/2013
Answer Humberto, Yes, at times the bus transportation can take a while to get you from point A to point B. Disney suggests as much as an hour to get between destinations, as many resort guests will go from their resort to another Disney resort to visit... read more

Question Hi I am coming to Disney world oct 31st for 2 weeks for the 1st time and i cant wait!! Im trying to put together a plan but when im checking the calenders there are no dates showing for disney's blizzard beach water park? can you tell me why this is please

- Asked by amy on 5/16/2013
Answer Amy, The likely reason is that because they are closing Typhoon Lagoon during that time for refurbishment, they are assessing how much busier Blizzard Beach will be, and what time it should be open. I would expect you will see those times posted... read more

- Asked by Tonya on 5/15/2013
Answer Tonya, The Star Wars "Legends of the Force" motorcade should start at 11:00 am near the main entrance. For more good info on the events of the day, consider printing out the PDF of the Festival event brochure. I find these helpful in... read more

Question Hi again! Thanks for answering my other questions. Only 4 months until my 2 week holiday:) I'm planning to take sandwiches to the park a few days. Where can I sit down for a picnic apart from Tom Sayer island? I hear most grass areas are off limits?

- Asked by Maria on 5/15/2013
Answer Maria, There really are not a lot of picnic areas in the truest sense of the word in the Magic Kingdom. By that I mean that there are not many spots where you can sit on the grass and eat. But you should stick to your plan to take in some... read more

Question Hi, I'm planning an upcoming trip to Disney and my daughter will not quite be three yet. My question is for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review, do we need to pay for her and if so how much would that cost? Thank you!

- Asked by Nicole on 5/15/2013
Answer Nicole, No, children under 3 do not have to pay for meals. As it is a family style meal, she will just eat with the rest of you, as if she had. But it is important when making your reservation to include her in your head count. That way they... read more
