About Me:
I'm Kim D. and I'm from the Tar Heel State! I am a wife, mom to two incredible children ages 20 and 10 and a Registered Nurse. As a Disney- fanatic, Type A planner who loves to help make others happy, I am thrilled to be part of the 2012 Walt Disney World Moms Panel! I have some unique Disney planning experiences related to special diets and in particular vegetarianism, touring with a preschooler and teenager at the same time, and navigating the parks with both mobility and medical needs. I am so looking forward to offering my advice and suggestions to help others plan the vacation of their lives!
About My Family: My husband Rich aka Team Dicky is considered by many to be a celebrity
in the mountain biking community! In addition to being a full-time bike
courier and wildly popular blogger, he is often traveling both in the
USA and internationally to bicycle over volcanoes and carefully cross
train trestle bridges while hungry crocodiles watch his every move from
below. My 20 year old son Andrew is the yin to my yang! With his
analytical, left-brained enormous appetite for aviation knowledge, it
comes as no surprise that he is now working for a major airline carrier with high flying dreams to pursue in the future!
Beautiful 10 year old Nia is a smart, artistic and funny girl! She loves
Disney music; Hannah Montana and traveling to Walt Disney World ALMOST
as much as I do! There is no doubt in anyone’s mind when they meet us
that we were most certainly destined to be mother and daughter!
About My Disney Experience: I first visited Walt Disney World as a child with my parents a few years after the Magic Kingdom opened. However, it was on a trip to celebrate my son starting school that my love of all-things-Disney really took hold! I am not ashamed to admit that initially I was a "park commando" with an ambition to see and do it all on every Disney trip. I vividly recall using a park hopper ticket to tour all four Disney Parks in one day with my two preteen nieces in tow! All that changed in 2007, when I adopted my special needs daughter a few months prior to her 5th birthday! Since that time, she has helped me develop an appreciation for the little details that making vacationing at Walt Disney World so unique!

We are scheduled to arrive at Disney World February 13th, 2012. I just found out I need surgery for my foot. I'm concerned about spending my vacation in a walking boot. Will likely need wheelchair part of the time. What do I need to do to plan this?
