About Me: I’m a former research librarian turned stay-at-home. In addition to taking care of my girls, I spend much of my time in community volunteer activities at my church and our school’s PTA. I also love the theater and arts - we try to see at least one Broadway show a month. I'm currently trying to push outside my comfort zone by becoming a runner. I'm now training for my second Walt Disney World half marathon. (Yikes - wish me luck!)

I'm thrilled to have been a part of the Walt Disney World Moms panel since the very beginning. One of my biggest loves is writing and I can't think of anything better than helping guests by writing about Disney travel. I grew up in Maryland and Maine and have spent the past 25 years in the New York metro area, but I truly feel that Walt Disney World is home.

About My Family: My husband and I have been married for 19 years. We met working on our college newspaper. He was the publisher and I was the arts and entertainment editor. He still works on the business end of publishing and I'm still writing, so we've definitely found a formula that works. We have three daughters: a 16-year-old and 13-year-old twins. My girls are heavily involved in music; they each take piano, voice, and music theory lessons and are all part of several choruses. It’s a rare weekend when we don’t have at least one recital to attend. My oldest daughter is also a competitive debater. She can't out-argue mom yet, but it's close :-). My parents were generous enough to take my 16-year-old on an Adventures by Disney trip to Ireland in 2010 (such a great intergenerational bonding experience) and will be taking my twins on a special Disney Cruise in 2013. They're certainly lucky ducks!

About My Disney Experience: My family is obsessed with Disney travel. We've been Disney Vacation Club members for more than a decade. I've lost count of the number of times I've traveled to Walt Disney World. I’ve stayed at nearly every WDW resort; our favorite is Disney’s Beach Club Villas. I’ve been to Walt Disney World in many size groups – just my husband and me, us with the girls, with my parents, with a nanny, with cousins, with another family, me with girlfriends and, most decadently and deliciously, all by myself. In addition to Walt Disney World, I've also visited Disneyland, Disneyland Paris (great food!), and the Disney Vacation Club resorts at Vero Beach and Hilton Head. Beyond the parks, I've taken Caribbean and Mediterranean voyages on the Disney Cruise Line and have taken five trips with Adventures by Disney: Costa Rica, Barcelona Escape, Mediterranean Magic, Quest for the West, and Germany. There is absolutely no better way to see the world! I can't wait for our AbD trip to China in 2013.

Other Q&A's from this Panelist

Question Followup to prev question. Since my mom won't be able to take ECV on boat from Ft Wild to MK, my parents will likely drive their car. Do the parking areas have handicapped spots? Can the ECV go on a tram?

- Asked by Cynthia from IL on 12/29/2012
Answer Hello again Cynthia, Yes, there are handicapped parking areas near the front of all Disney's theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney. You'll need to have appropriate handicapped auto identification to use this, either a designation on the... read more

- Asked by stacy from VA on 12/29/2012

Question We are coming to Disney this March for 8 days. We are staying off campus. Was wondering if you can enter a park, leave and come back later to the same park? Also, we will probably go to the parks for 4-5 days of our trip. Any suggestions for tickets?

- Asked by Charles from IA on 12/29/2012
Answer Hi Charles, No matter where you're staying, you can leave and reenter the park with Disney tickets. If you have a basic Magic Your Way ticket, you can leave and reenter the same park as many times as you wish during the day. If you have a Park... read more

Question Happy 2013 to you all! Two quick questions: Someone told me of a building in HS where you can meet 8-10 characters at one time -any idea where exactly this is? Has anyone viewed WISHES from Fantasyland - behind the castle instead of the front? THANKS!

- Asked by Jackie from MI on 12/29/2012
Answer Hi Jackie, The closest thing to what you're describing is the Magic of Disney Animation Pavilion at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This area typically hosts characters from two or three Disney films. Notably, this is where you can often find the... read more
