About Me:  I am a stay-at-home mom who has enjoyed watching my son grow from an under three pound preemie to a healthy 10 year old. I am active in our school PTO and serve as chairperson for the annual Book Fair. I used my B.A. in Legal Studies as a paralegal before becoming a full-time mom. I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, ice skating and planning vacations. I love to share the magic of Disney by helping families plan their vacations. I was honored to be an inaugural WDW Moms panelist!

About My Family: My husband and I have been married for 18 years. We shared our love for Disney by renewing our vows at Walt Disney World for our 10-year anniversary. Riding in Cinderella’s Coach was a dream come true. My husband is always reading books about Walt Disney. Another dream come true was taking our son, who was born prematurely, to Walt Disney World for the first time when he was two years old – something we thought we might not get the chance to do. Today, he is an excellent student who loves to read and build model railroads. He shares my passion for the parks, and loves Space Mountain and Star Tours. My family loves to sail on the Disney Cruise Line and look forward to our Mediterranean cruise with Mickey in 2010.

About My Disney Experience: My husband and I are both fans of WDW. We even honeymooned at the Grand Floridian. We travel to Disney World at least once per year, love sailing aboard the Disney Cruise Line and have vacationed at the Disney Resort on Hilton Head Island. We have stayed at most of the resorts at WDW. I hope to inspire other moms to plan a Walt Disney World vacation to match their budgets and dreams.

Other Q&A's from this Panelist

Question Recently returned from our first DCL trip - 4 night to Nassau and Castaway Cay. It was fabulous and I want to plan our next one! I would like to try a 7 day cruise next. What do you frequent cruisers prefer - Eastern or Western Carribean, & why?

- Asked by Karen from NH on 12/21/2009

Answer I've sailed both routes. I prefer the Eastern Caribbean due to the beauty of the port of St. Thomas and more days at sea. The western ports seem to offer more adventurous shore excursions. For instance, divers might prefer to head on a Western... read more

Question Hi Kimberly! Possibly going on a cruise in Sept. '10. I have a passport book, but my mom and 1 other traveler doesn't. Went to USPS.com and see that a passport card is cheaper than a book. Are passport cards accepted in place of a book for the cruise? Thx!

- Asked by Wendy on 12/22/2009

Answer Currently, U.S. citizens may travel internationally via land or sea using a traditional passport or the passport card. Yes, the passport card will be an acceptable document for your upcoming cruise. However, I would note that a passport card... read more

Question We are thinking of cruising dec 2010. It seems to be cheaper for a family of 5 to get 2 smaller rooms. Are there connecting rooms? When is the best time to book? Are there ever specials like at the resort? Thank you!

- Asked by Andrea from MN on 12/23/2009

Answer While a category 4 deluxe family stateroom can certainly accommodate a family of 5 and you will have a verandah, it's usually not the most cost effective option. On a cruise ship, prices go up as the cabin's square footage increases. The... read more

Question We're off on a Disney cruise in March, can't wait! My Mom (who is surprising my boys with this incredible gift for their birthdays!) wants to know if there are cabanas to rent on Castaway Cay?

- Asked by Krista from WA on 12/30/2009

Answer What a magical birthday present! Sailing with Disney will be an awesome adventure for your family. Castaway Cay is getting a make-over in 2010 and by the Summer, cabana rentals will be available. For now, I recommend that your family heads to the... read more
