Leaving for WDW on Thurs 12/5! We want to see gingerbread/holiday displays at resorts on our first day. Is there a self-guided tour/plan we can follow? Staying at S. Springs. I'm not familiar with what order we should go in. THANKS!

Resort hopping to experience all the wonderful holiday displays is such a fun way to spend the first day of your stay! While there is not a printed self-guided tour available, it's easy enough to plan your own tour of the resort holiday displays.
From Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort, simply hop on a bus to Hollywood Studios and then take a water taxi (Friendship Boat) over to the Epcot Resort Area. I recommend starting off at Disney's BoardWalk Inn to see this year's newest holiday display, a full-on replica of a Jersey Shore Boardwalk concession stand, made of gingerbread, marshmallows and saltwater taffy. Next, walk over to Disney's Yacht Club Resort to enjoy the miniature holiday village and train encircled by sugar rock mountains set up in the resort's lobby. From there, it's just a few steps to Disney's Beach Club Resort where you can marvel at the life-sized revolving carousel featuring Disney characters made of chocolate and painted by hand.
Next, head to the Magic Kingdom Resort area to enjoy more amazing holiday displays. You can take a bus from the Beach Club to Magic Kingdom Park and then ride the Resort Monorail line just one stop to Disney's Contemporary Resort. In the Grand Canyon Concourse (the Contemporary's cavernous lobby), you'll find an impressive 17-foot gingerbread holiday tree. Last but certainly not least, hop back on the Resort Monorail for a short ride to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa where you can experience an incredible life-sized gingerbread house. The talent and skill of the Disney pastry chefs are evidenced by the amazing level of detail they have put into this creation. And the proverbial "icing on the cake" are the freshly made sweet treats and seasonal beverages for sale right from a window within the gingerbread house itself!
Wishing you a magical (and delicious!) day resort hopping to see all the gingerbread and holiday displays!
