We are going to DHS on 12/11, but it closes at 6. It's open until 8 most other nights, so does this mean we won't see the Osborne Lights? Is there a special reason it is closing early? Thanks!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting you will be visiting the "Most Magical Place on Earth" during the "merriest time of the year!" Have you started counting down the days since your vacation is just around the corner?
I looked at the official Disney Parks Calendar
and it does indicate that Disney's Hollywood Studios will be closing at 6:00 p.m. on December 11, 2013. Unfortunately, The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is not currently listed as one of the Special Events that will be taking place on December 11, 2013. I called Disney directly just now to speak to a friendly cast member and she verified that the information on the website is the same as what she has for your date of interest. She also noticed that the dates prior to and following December 11th are more extended and The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights are scheduled to be shown on those days. She was unable to confirm the reason for the shortened park hours or why The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights may not be shown on the day of your visit. I wanted to mention that operating hours are subject to change and I have personally seen the park hours extended from what was originally posted online.
If you have flexibility in your vacation itinerary, then I would recommend changing the day you will be visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios in order to experience The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. You may also consider "park hopping" to Disney's Hollywood Studios on a different evening if you will have the Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper Option. I'm sorry this was not the news you were hoping for, but I hope the information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to visit me again with any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Lindsay!
