We are staying off the resort grounds because we have such a big group. This is our first trip to Disney World. It's been planned since last November but I have no clue what all to let the kids see, etc... Dec 25-Jan 31 are our dates. Advice?

Hey there Nancy!
Congratulations on your first Walt Disney World vacation! You have definitely come to the right place for vacation planning advice regarding the "Most Magical Place on Earth!" Because you are visiting during one of the most popular weeks of the year, I recommend arriving at park opening in order to experience as many attractions as possible when the parks are usually less crowded. I also suggest avoiding the park offering Extra Magic Hours, a perk of guests staying on property.
At Magic Kingdom Park, don't miss Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Spirit of the Season. My list of "must do" attractions includes "it's a small world," Peter Pan's Flight, Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Mickey's PhilharMagic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, don't miss The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, Toy Story Midway Mania!, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Great Movie Ride, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, or Fantasmic! My favorites at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park include Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest - The Forbidden Mountain, DINOSAUR, Festival of the Lion King, and Finding Nemo - The Musical. At Epcot, don't miss Spaceship Earth, Test Track, Soarin', or The Seas with Nemo & Friends. I highly recommend watching the Voices of Liberty at The American Adventure and Candlelight Processional, a beautiful Holiday event featuring a celebrity narrator that tells the story of Christmas while being accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir.
Please feel free to write me back with additional questions. I would love to assist you in the planning of a magical first trip!
