Things are changing so fast, so remember that information is always subject to change. The last I heard, one by one resorts are pulling the Key to the World cards. When I was there last week, Pop Century guests were no longer receiving cards, with the All-Stars to follow. The only way you could receive a Key to the World card at a non-issuing resort would be to opt out of the MagicBands and FastPass+. This means you would only have access to the legacy (paper) FastPasses and would not have your FastPass+ options.
So what to do? Keep your FastPass+ selections. If you can, adjust them to be mid-day when the lines are the longest and get to the parks early for short waits in the stand-by lines. My typical day is an open morning, lunch, then 3 back-to-back FastPass+ times scheduled. In between times, we squeeze in attractions with short wait times. Or, if I want an afternoon for pool time, I schedule one FastPass+, a dinner reservation, then my remaining two FastPass+ selections. Just try to group your times around your in-park meals to maximize your valuable time.
I have to say, I was on the fence about this whole new system but even though we visited over the busy Thanksgiving weekend, we were able to get so much done with a little planning. I think you are on your way to a very thought out, organized vacation full of magic and fun! Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
