We are staying at port Orleans Hotel, is there a height / age requirement for kids to go down the waterslide at the pool? How late are the pools open?

Disney's Port Orleans Resort is a great choice for your next Walt Disney World vacation. 2 unique properties make up Port Orleans Resort: Riverside and French Quarter and each has its own themed main pool area. I'm not sure which property you have chosen, but as a guest of Port Orleans, you are permitted to "pool hop" between Riverside and French Quarter. This is a great perk, as both properties have fantastic pools and recreation areas! Resort pool hours are generally 9am-10pm.
On my recent visit, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and my 4 year old daughter enjoyed spending time on Ol' Man Island, the resort's main recreation area! Ol' Man Island is home to The Swimmin' Hole,
Riverside's feature pool. There was no posted age/height restriction, and my daughter had a blast barreling down the slide over and over again. To my knowledge, your child must be able to go down the slide alone, as the lifeguards will not allow "piggy backing", or 2 at a time. Until my daughter became fully comfortable, my husband and I took turns helping her. One of us would take her top the top and "load" her, while the other would wait to catch her below. If your little Nemo is not 100% comfortable in the pool, I would recommend using "swimmies" or a life jacket to ensure a happy experience!
Riverside's sister property, Port Orleans French Quarter features Doubloon Lagoon which is considered by many to be one of the best pools on property! This pool's water slide is a Sea-Serpent, and sends guests barreling down the scales into the lagoon. To my best knowledge, the requirements at Riverside and French Quarter are the same, so you should be fine as long as your little one is comfortable enough to ride the slide alone.
