Celebrating my son's 8th birthday on Nov 29th (day after Thanksgiving) at Disney, so many things are already reserved unfortunately. Definitely plan to get a birthday button. Any other fun 'boy' things?

Wow! Happy birthday to your soon-to-be 8-year-old! What a fantastic place to spend an 8th birthday, too! Great planning, Dad!
In addition to the Birthday Button, craft the day around your son's favorites. Head over to Magic Kingdom and enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean, stick around for Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial and pick up a birthday souvenir while there, too. (That is one location where my little guy could spend an hour; so many treasures to see!) If available, consider a visit to The Pirates League
, where your son can get transformed into a scallywag Capt'n Jack would trust with The Black Pearl. Consider your son's favorite foods and, if Table Service reservations are not available, grab some favorites in one of the many fantastic Quick Service locations instead. Menus are available online so you can know before you go where those favorites are lurking. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
is another way to add even more fun to your Magic Kingdom day, and, of course, be sure to allow some time at Frontierland Shootin' Arcade (another of my son's favorite spots.)
Keep in mind, too, that other Guests may be changing their plans as the date draws nearer, so if you'd like to book a Table Service reservation for that day, keep trying. You might be able to grab one as it's being released by a Guest whose plans have changed.
In short, find out which park would be his favorite and plan out a day where it's all about him. Which attractions, where to eat, selecting entertainment options...he'll be Prince for a Day.
We've got plenty of time to plan the day, James, so send me another question including some of your son's favorites; I'll help you make a list of things that are sure to keep him smiling all day!
We love to help!
