What is the least expensive time of the year to vacations at WDW? We are a party of 6 (4 kids and 2 adults) and would also like to know which resort would best suit out family?

Susan, the least expensive time of year to visit Walt Disney World is during value season. Although the exact dates of value season vary from year to year, generally speaking, value season includes most of August and September and about the first two weeks of December. To see the dates of value season for 2008, click here
. That page displays rate information for the resort hotels and allows you to take a virtual tour. If you click on the "View Rate Seasons" link that follows the headings of the resort categories (deluxe resorts, moderate resorts, etc.) it will open a window that gives you dates for value season.
You have a few options when it comes to which resorts can accommodate your family. Some of the rooms at Port Orleans Riverside and most of the deluxe resorts can accommodate five people plus one child under the age of 3. If your youngest child is over age 3, then your choices are a bit more limited. There are family suites available at Disney's All-Star Music Resort which sleep up to six and include two full bathrooms (always a plus in my opinion). You might also consider a stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. There are cabins there that can also accommodate up to six and even come equipped with a nice little patio and charcoal grill. Many of the resorts offer pricier suite options as well and of course Disney's villas can accommodate a family of six. The link I provided above will allow you to compare resort options and choose which one best suits the tastes and needs of your family.
Hope this helps.
