Question Does Disney world give military discounts for hotels other than shades of green ? And does the reserves get a discount?

- Asked by Holly from HI on 6/14/2012
Answer Hi Holly!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

You can get more information on the various Disney discounts for United States military personnel here.  Currently active duty, reservists, and retired military personnel can take up to 40% off at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels.  You can get more details on eligibility at that website.

Disney is offering a special 4 day military promotional ticket if you will be visiting Walt Disney World soon.  Otherwise you can usually get discounted tickets at your nearest military base, though they are not as cheap as the special 4 day military promotional ticket.

The Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreational Center located in the heart of Walt Disney World.  You can get more information on the Shades of Green at their website or at a local MWR office at your nearest military base.  It is a nice place to stay and my family and I have always enjoyed our stay there.  Dining is also less expensive in general there than dining elsewhere in Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
