My mum has a heart condition and also has gout. To add to this, she fell over a few weeks ago and hurt her ankle and knee. We will hire a wheelchair at the parks, but are we able to pay to park closer to the entrance so she hasn't too far to walk?

Thank you for sending me a question, Lynne, and I'll do my best to provide you helpful answers. I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's recent ailments. It sounds like a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is certainly in order. To my knowledge, the only preferred parking available to guests at the four Theme Parks is the AAA Diamond Preferred parking. Entitlements to this parking requires guests to purchase their Disney vacations directly through AAA. For additional terms and conditions, you can contact AAA vacations at 800-374-2865.
My other suggestion is to obtain a disabled badge at home in the UK to display in your rental car. The Disney Cast Members should recognize out of state/country placards and will direct you to park in designated handicapped spaces. With the exception of Magic Kingdom, these spaces are located near the front entrances of Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Disney's Animal Kingdom. At Magic Kingdom, all guests travel via ferry or monorail (both handicapped accessible) across Seven Seas Lagoon to the front gates. It's a lovely ride and I'm confident you'll find the transfer process seamless.
I'm attaching a Wheelchair Rental
link for your reference, Lynne, and please feel free to contact me again with further questions.
I wish you a magical
