I am a single grandmother, handicapped, with custody of grandchild (7 yrs old). When we traveled to Disney (just the two of us) the GAC worked, how will this new pass accommodate us?

With the new system, Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs who are able to wait in standard queues where available, will not need a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card. If there are queues that require Guests in wheelchairs or ECVs to enter through alternate queues, you can see a Cast Member (CM) at that attraction for assistance. They will give you a return time to come back to the attraction based on the current wait time.
If you are unable to wait in a regular queue for other reasons, you should go to Guest Relations to obtain a DAS. Once you obtain a DAS, you can go to an attraction and see a CM at the entrance to get a return time to enter the FASTPASS (FP) or other alternate entrance if necessary. The DAS differs from a FP in that there is no window return time so there is no pressure to make it back to that attraction within a certain time frame.
You can only obtain a return time for one attraction at a time but you can go and get another DAS return time for a different attraction as soon as you've finished. FP and FastPass+ can be used in addition to the DAS. Please keep in mind that there may be some changes along the way for the new DAS system.
