I'm so glad you asked this question because there is plenty for tweens and teens to enjoy on a Disney Cruise! I have nephews the same ages as the boys in your family who have sailed with Disney and had just as much, if not more fun than their younger siblings and cousins! The youth programming, Edge and Vibe will keep them very busy because there is always something to do in these hi-tech spaces. The activities planned for the older crew are always age appropriate, and the counselors are fabulous. There is even programming for them ashore when the ship stops in Castaway Cay. When they aren't in the club, Disney Cruise Line offers first-run movies, splashtacular fun on the pool deck and AquaDuck, a full size sports court, sports simulators (additional fee), all you can eat ice cream, pizza, burgers and fries and more to keep tweens/teens very satisfied on vacation.
My advice is to encourage all the kids in your family to visit the youth clubs on the first night of your cruise. Ice breaker and get-to-know you activities are planned so this is the best time to meet the counselors and make friends on the ship. A great tool for everyone in your party throughout your sailing will be the daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator. This handy resource will list all the activities and events scheduled for all the youth clubs, the entertainment schedules, character appearances, hours of operations, and much more. It will be delivered nightly to your stateroom and additional copies can be picked up at Guest Services.
Thank you for stopping by with your question, Brenda! Your family couldn't have made a better vacation choice!
