Welcome aboard, Marie! I'm excited to hear that you're getting ready to book your family's very first cruise with Disney Cruise Line! Of course, every age is the perfect age to sail with Disney, but your kids really seem to be at great ages to enjoy some of the amazing activities just for them onboard!
Your family would be best to look at booking two adjoining staterooms. Most of the staterooms
will sleep up to five, so booking two that connect with a door inside is the best way to go for your family of six. The Dream offers connecting staterooms in most categories, so you can find two that best fit your budget. You can't go wrong with any of the staterooms, including the inside staterooms. Did you know that the inside staterooms on the Dream feature a virtual porthole? A magic porthole-like picture on the wall shows a live feed of video from the outside of the ship, so it's as if you are actually looking out a real porthole. Plus, Disney friends magically appear in the virtual porthole from time to time, which is pretty fun too!
A set of connecting verandah staterooms are nice too, as the verandah dividers can be folded back, creating one larger verandah so you can walk back and forth between your staterooms from outside too. My family has done this when we've sailed in connecting rooms with extended family and it's worked out so well!
When you're ready to book, give one of the agents at Disney Cruise Line a call. They can walk you through selecting the right staterooms for your family and budget. Have fun as you continue to plan this sailing, Marie! I'm happy to help if you have any other questions before you head out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew this spring!
