Hi Kathy! How heart warming you will be able to enjoy a Disney vacation with your granddaughter this month. I know it will help her be positive for what is ahead in August.
I would definitely try to have her be the prettiest princess possible during your trip. Although it is late to get reservations at many of the special events I would certainly try. There is the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the makeovers either at Downtown Disney or the Magic Kingdom. You have princess dining options in the Magic Kingdom and also a great one at Epcot. The Grand Floridian has several princess tea events that would be wonderful as well.
Try to book a character dining reservation as all of the characters will bring a smile to her face. Each park has a schedule of the meet and greets each day so be sure and pick that up when you enter a park. Consider booking a Fireworks Specialty Cruise to watch the Magic Kingdom Wishes show or the Epcot Illuminations show during one evening.
Definitely consider ordering an in room celebration for your granddaughter. You can visit the Disney florist at www.disneyflorist.com
for some options. I know my grandson loved the one where they leave Mickey's footprints on the floor!
Because of the late date I would recommend calling your resort concierge to see if they can assist you with some reservations. Explain the situation and see if they can find some extra magic along the way. I know this will be a special time for all of you together at the most magical place on earth!
