thinking about staying at one of the resorts to take advantage of the extra hour.
my question......it seems like in past visits, that if you where in line at the end of the night
you where allowed to ride. doesnt this cut into the extra evening hour?

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort does have its advantages including Extra Magic Hours (EMH). This allows guests staying on property to enter the park prior to it opening or staying after it closes with less crowds. Some guests really enjoy have this extra time to themselves and I know some who like to party until the wee hours of the morning.
While you can finish waiting in line for a ride, you will be escorted out of the park on EMH hours if you do not have a wristband or Key to the World card indicating you are staying on property. Disney does a good job of sweeping the parks to escort guests not staying on property out of the park. You would only feel the impact of this on one of the first rides of the night.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
