I don't think you have to worry! As my kids have matured into teens, I'm finding they enjoy Walt Disney World even more than in their younger years.
For pre-teens, here are some of our family's highlights of each parks.
If your kids are a bit on the
adventurous side, you're going to want to make sure your touring plan
includes the mountains: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain
and Splash Mountain. These rides are perennial favorites! Pirates of the
Caribbean and Haunted Mansion are two classics that a little on the
slower side but always impress. No trip is complete without seeing
WIshes! Fireworks will never be the same again!
: Be sure to check out Kilimanjaro Safaris, you'll see a
bit of Africa right in Florida. Elephants, lions and zebras will abound! Festival of the Lion King is definitely
one of the top shows to check out.
: For some adventure, check out Test Track and Soarin'. For a treat, grab the family and head to the
caramel shop in Germany, Karamel Cush, is the best!
: Toy Story Midway Mania is one of the most popular
family rides. Be sure to grab a FastPass early! If you have a young Jedi in the family, don't miss Star Tours. The
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a dining experience like no other - pre-teens are sure to get a kick out of the off kilter sci-fi movies!
Downtown Disney is a family favorite as well. For a unique dining experience, T-Rex can't be beat. And, if you have time, Disney Quest is a super-fun experience for anyone who loves video games!
Please don't hesitate to ask the Moms Panel if there are any more details we can help with!
