Thanks for your help so far! Myself and 3 children staying at AKL Aug/13. 2 girls are 15 and 17 and son is 21. Can you give us ideas for activities that we can do together that my son won't feel too childish or girlie doing? Be as creative as you like!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is gorgeous, and I think your entire family is going to have a great time during your summer vacation to Walt Disney World! There are plenty of activities that are perfect for older kids and adults.
First, plan on having a great meal (or two). I know you asked about character dining, and that's certainly fun, but there are so many excellent restaurants at WDW. Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite restaurants on property. California Grill is also a great option and gives you a gorgeous view of the fireworks overlooking Cinderella Castle.
Take a tour. There are several tours for just about every interest. Wild Africa Trek
at Animal Kingdom is amazing. You'll get amazing views of safari wildlife, including walking on suspension bridges directly over large groups of crocodiles.
Downtown Disney has some great diversions as well. Besides some fun dining options (Bongos, House of Blues, Raglan Road), there are some great activities to do as well. Splitsville, opening December 2012, is a 50,000 square foot upscale entertainment center that combines dining, bowling, billiards and music.
Take a cruise, although it may seem a bit silly, Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise is one of the best ways to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Plus, you get to meet Captain Hook, Smee and Peter Pan along the way.
Hope these ideas help. Have a magical vacation!
