My 3 year old son LOVES firetrucks. I heard there is a fire station store in Magic Kingdom. Is this true? What types of things can you buy there? We are going for his 4th birthday and I thought it would be neat for him to pick out a bday present there.

You are correct, there is most certainly a Fire Station on Main Street, USA near the Harmony Barber Shop and City Hall. However, it is not a retail location. It is actually the "recruiting" station for the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom interactive game. While you wouldn't be able to purchase anything at the Fire Station, there are some fun and nostalgic details within it that your son might enjoy looking at inside the station. Keep in mind that other guests would be there to get their Sorcerers cards, but I'm sure if you let the cast member know that your son is really into firetrucks, they would let him look around, but there isn't a firetruck inside there.
At times, there is an old fashioned firetruck that guests can board and ride down Main Street, USA to Cinderella's Castle hub or vice versa. Other Main Street vehicles
are a horse-drawn carriage, jitney, and omnibus. While I can't guarantee which vehicles are available on specific days throughout the day, you can check with the cast member near the transportation pick-up spots, as they might be able to tell you which vehicles will be running that day. If timing works in your favor, that could be a memorable experience riding the firetruck down Main Street, USA.
In regards to firetruck merchandise, I have seen Red, the firetruck from Cars in several different sizes, as well as Mater "dressed up" as a firetruck from the Pixar short, Mater's Tall Tales. In fact, my son chose that as his souvenir on our recent trip this past June. We purchased his at the retail location at the end of Test Track at Epcot, but I have also seen the Cars merchandise at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom and various other locations in Hollywood Studios.
I hope your son has a magical birthday with candles "ablaze"!
