Hello! We will be in Disney in December with 5 adults and a 6 yo boy. I would like to know more about MVMCP to justify the extra cost. My understanding is its fireworks, a parade and shows. What else.. Thank you!

My family loves Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! We don't do it every time we are there in the winter, but we have been to it at least four times in the last eight years:)
It's true that it includes a parade, fireworks, and shows. But, they are special holiday parades, fireworks, and shows. Some of them can only be seen during the party and they are so fun! The Christmas music and atmosphere throughout the Magic Kingdom gets me into the holiday spirit like nothing else can. There may even be a surprise snow-shower over Main Street!!
In addition to all of that, one of the big advantages is the low crowds, which means shorter lines for the most popular rides. And, if you stay for the late parade, the time during the first parade is perfect for riding rides over and over with no wait. My boys and I rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad five times in a row without having to wait at all.
There will also be hot chocolate and cookie stations throughout the park where you can get these treats at no cost.
I do think your family would love the party. As a tip, even though the party normally starts at 7 p.m., they usually let party ticket holders in starting at 4 p.m. If you don't plan to use a park ticket that day anywhere, this could give you three extra hours in Magic Kingdom. Be sure and check with a cast member when you get there, as that is always subject to change.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
