« back to Holiday Seasons
We are planning to visit Disney World over Thanksgiving, 2014 and are planning to head home that Friday. Are there any Disney Christmas experiences or events that don't begin until after Thanksgiving? I don't want to miss anything.

My family and I are at Walt Disney World right now, enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday here for the first time. We've had a blast so far, including taking in all the holiday decorations and sampling a number of the special Christmas treats.
Most of the holiday activities in the parks, such as the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios, the Festival of the Seasons at Downtown Disney and Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade at Animal Kingdom, begin well before Thanksgiving. So does Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom, but that special event normally takes the week off for Thanksgiving.
Only Holidays Around the World at Epcot, which includes the Candlelight Processional, usually waits until the day after Thanksgiving to commence each year.
This is a busy week at the parks, but we have taken advantage of FastPass+ and made our dining reservations well in advance, so the crowds have been a minimal issue for us. We are already thinking of returning next Thanksgiving!
I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can assist as you make your plans. I'm happy to share my experiences this week to help you have a wonderful holiday visit a year from now.
