With my booking it says we get preferred seating at Epcot illuminations and MK fireworks. I presume it is a perk when staying at a disney resort. How does that actually work, is there specific area reserved or would we still need get there early?

We are planning a trip to WDW in April for 6days. We have passes for the theme parks for 5 days are I am wondering the best attractions for my boys ages 5 & 7 would be and which them parks they would have the most tum at.
