I've noticed on the Disney Channel that many times "Disney Stars" (Cheetah Girls, High School Musical Cast, etc.) sometimes visit Disney in the summer. Is there a schedule of when/where these "stars" might visit Disney?

Is a regular park admission ticket required for the Downtown Disney area? We are arriving in the afternoon and would like to take advantage of our hotel and Dowtown Disney the first day without using our regular park tickets. Is that possible?
