October is a beautiful month to visit Disney World. The summer humidity is typically a memory and the days are usually warm and sunny with average highs in the mid eighties and lows in the mid sixties. Rainfall is often greatly reduced from its summer downpours, with an average of 2.4 inches a month.
I like to use www.touringplans.com
to help judge crowd sizes during my Disney World trips. The site utilizes a number of factors like past crowd history, special events and holidays to rate expected crowds on a level of 1 to 10, with 10 having the largest crowds and longest wait times. For the dates you will be traveling, the expected crowds are ranked in the 4-6 range. This means you will most likely experience average crowds and wait times. Be sure to utilize the fastpass system on the more popular attractions to minimize any waits.
You will be visiting during two of our favorite events, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. The Halloween party is a special ticket event at Magic Kingdom which includes fireworks, parade and shows offered only during the event. The Food and Wine Festival is part of your admission to Epcot, and offers guests a chance to sample food and beverages from around the world. I strongly suggest attending both.
Wishing you a magical trip!
