Hi- I just read that DL is getting rid of the GAC in early October. They will be introducing a new system. I.m wondering when this new system will be rolled out at WDW? We will arrive 10/19 and need to know what to expect for our son. Thanks.

Yes, given the increasing volume of requests that Disney receives for special access to their attractions, they are changing the process so that it creates a more consistent experience for all Guests while providing accommodations for Guests with disabilities. After careful consideration, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland will be replacing the Guest Assistance Card with the new Disability Access Service Card on October 9th. The Disability Access Service Card will offer Guests a return time for an attraction based on the current wait time. Please rest assured that Disney has an unwavering commitment to making their experiences accessible to all Guests. You will want to contact Guest Relations to discuss your assistance needs upon arrival. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you a wonderful vacation,
