Hi Laura! I'm starting to plan an extended family vacation (ages 3-70) for '09 - looking @ OKW, but am concerned about dining. How is Olivia's? Does the boat from OKW go to POR/FQ, SSR or just DD? We won't have a car. Do you like OKW for this age group?

Hi there again Donna! Girl, my family and I absolutely LOVE
Disney's Old Key West! Although we are crazy Disney fans, we love that Old Key West is quiet and makes you feel like you are at a private, island reserve. To us, it's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.
I have been at Old Key West with my extended family in a group as big as 15, ranging in age from 5 months to 82 years old. The resort is a big hit with all our age groups. I believe the shuttle boats that run on the Sassagoula River serve Old Key West, the Port Orleans complex and Saratoga Springs, but make sure to check when you get there.
Now about Olivia's. Old Key West is our second home and Olivia's is like having Sunday dinner at your elderly aunt's house. It's familiar and fun and you feel right at home. Sometimes old Auntie makes an amazing meal. Sometimes, it's just so so. But we always go back because of the love and service. We love seeing all the pictures of the owners on the walls.
I will tell you a little story about why I love Old Key West so much. We go every year. But I'm sure we are one of millions of people who visit the resort. When we arrived at the resort, we quickly changed into our bathing suits and headed over to the pool. While my family swam, I went to the bar to get some frozen drinks. The bartender said, "Welcome back. Is that a new haircolor?"
Well, Ramona the bartender not only remembered me, and my favorite beverage, but noticed that I had covered my grey with a chestnut red. Will we be back.? You betcha!
Have a magical trip!Laura S, from MA
