Hi there LOVE this panel. My ? is for Kimberly. You mentioned in an earlier answer that you never pay rack rate. You have also mentioned a AAA discount. Can you tell me about this? Is it only offered at certain times like other promotions?

I never pay rack rate at any hotels. I'm too obsessed with research and finding bargains.
AAA discounts for 2009 were just released. They are almost always released around the same time as the next year's WDW rack rates.
So, when I call to book my room only reservation, this is how it goes:
Can you check availability for January 23 for 4 nights?
Would you have a AAA discount available?
Usually the Central Reservations at 407-W-DISNEY will tell me that they do have a AAA discount available and how much it will save per night. If using a travel agent, they can also check on a room only AAA discount for you. You do not have to get a package unless that works best for your family.
I always book my room only reservation using the AAA discount. Then, I monitor other discount releases via www.mousesavers.com
AAA discounts are usually available for the entire year, although I've read that limited amount of rooms are available for each date. However, I've always been able to use this discount. There may be some exclusions such as during holiday times.
You will need to give your AAA card number but I've never had to show the card at Check-In. My AAA membership pays for itself as we use it for local attractions as well.
Depending on the time of year of your visit and the resort of your choice, the discount varies from 10-20% off of the nightly rack rate. But that adds up!
For guests, booking a package, you might also want to check with your local AAA office to compare price quotes.
