I know I have to buy a special event ticket for the MVMCP but do I need a regular admission ticket also?

have tickets ,hubby and I,for MVMCP in Dec. I was reading about it, have a question. Does the park close when it starts and MVMCP guest get to enjoy the events & the park alone?If so how should I plan our day so we wont be dragging our selves a 12am? J

My husband and I are considering doing the Pirate/Princess party with our 2 year old son. He isn't really into pirates or princesses though so we aren't sure if he would really be into it or not? Is it worth trying out?
