Picnic in the Park followup - any indications on when/if this will resume at AK? I see no mention of it on the WDW website. I'd like to try it for our August visit (sounds perfect for me and 2 7-year-olds), but I have Yak & Yeti reservations as a backu

Hi Nancy! The Picnic in the Park at Animal Kingdom is continuing indefinitely in the form of a "Grab and Go" option at the Beastly Bazaar in the Discovery Island area. Guests may purchase a picnic for a group of 2, 4, or 6 people and select a non-alcoholic beverage, a choice of sandwich, chips, and dessert. The sandwich choices include Turkey Focaccia; Ham and Salami on Ciabatta; Tuna on Pita; Vegetarian Wrap; and Chicken Caesar Wrap.
If that's not what you had in mind, the Yak & Yeti is a good backup. My family had lunch there a few weeks ago, and we really enjoyed it. The egg rolls and the wonton dessert were especially good! If your seven-year-olds are picky eaters, the Yak & Yeti will try to accommodate them -- my son was able to order a grilled cheese there even though it was not on the menu.
Hope this helps! Have a fantastic time in August!
