Hi, Jocelyn!
What a great time of the year to visit Walt Disney World! The crowds will have diminished and the weather will still be warm enough to enjoy your resort pool and the water parks. Well done!
With your 9 days in WDW, be sure to plan one day at each of the water parks, if this is something that your family would enjoy. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have their own personalities, so even just a few hours at each one would surely be a great way for your family to enjoy some really unique features. Pair those days, which will end early, with a night at Downtown Disney and a night to just relax at your resort or a chance to witness a nighttime event that you'd like to enjoy a second time around, such as Wishes Nighttime Spectacular at Magic Kingdom, or Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I often use the unofficial crowd-predicting site, touringplans.com, to plan our itinerary, based on crowd levels. For your 9-day trip, none of the parks look too crowded, although you might want to avoid Disney's Hollywood Studios on 9/23 (4.2 out of 10) and Epcot on 9/25 (5.1 out of 10.) The rest of the days are all at about 1-2 out of 10 each day, so travel at will!
Be sure to learn how to use Disney's complimentary
FASTPASS which will cut down on the time you spend in lines for some of the most popular attractions. You can even use this to meet Mickey and friends or some princesses at Magic Kingdom!
Try to minimize park hopping, as you'll lose park touring time to transportation. However, if you plan to head back to your resort for a nap or a swim on any day, you can easily return to a different park that night, perhaps for a delicious dinner that you've booked well in advance.
If you'd like me to narrow down attractions by "must-see," then send me another question including the height of the little one. I'd be happy to provide you with a list!
