We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in August with 2 boys, 3 and 7. I'm going to do online check-in and read that you can request a location, although it's not guarenteed. Where should I request so that we are relatively close to the main building?

Hi Melissa! The tranquil wooded setting of the Port Orleans Resort will be such a nice respite from the summer heat this August. If you want to be guaranteed a room near the main building, reserving a room in the Preferred Location category is your best bet, since those rooms are in the buildings closest to the main areas of the resort.
If you have a different room category booked, you can note your desire to be near the main building on your reservation. In the Magnolia Bend southern mansion section of the resort, the Magnolia and Oak buildings are closest to the main building. In the rustic Alligator Bayou section, buildings 16 and 17 are the closest non-preferred-room buildings.
