I understand that I cannot travel directly to DTD from AK. My question is should I take a bus to the AKL and once there hop on a bus to DTD or should I take a bus to one of the Port Orleans Resorts and then take a Ferry to DTD?

Hi Rachel!
I would say that it depends on how quickly you wish to get to Downtown Disney. Both are viable options and both will get you to where you want to be. The bus to AKL and then to DTD is perfectly fine, but bussing to one of the Port Orleans resorts and then cruising on to Downtown Disney sounds like (and is) a much more scenic and relaxing way to get there. If you are not in a hurry, I would do the cruise from either of the POR resorts.
