ive heard that magic kingdom gates close at about 11am due to full
capacity on christmas day.
We have an ADR booked for christmas lunch but was not planning to arrive
at the park until just before our reservation time at 2pm.
can you confirm

There is no specific time that the park gates close on holiday mornings - these decisions are made on a case by case basic, solely based on park attendance and capacity issues. You can read about park capacity HERE, HERE and HERE.
Personally, for a 2:00 p.m. meal inside the Magic Kingdom on Christmas day, I would try to be there well before noon if you are staying on WDW property and using Disney transportation to get to the park. If you are staying off-site or are driving to the park, I would plan to get there as soon at the Magic Kingdom opens and stay there until your lunch time.
