First day in WDW is 12/4. Have ADR for Crystal Palace8:20am. Made to help DS who is easily overwhelmed-thought walking in MK before park opens then having breakfast might give him time to adjust. Heard Christmas parade taping going on-will MainST be busy?

Steve,
Yes, with the taping going on, Main Street, U.S.A. will be very busy. Your best bet is to get past Main Street as early as you can, and visit the other lands during the parade, so that you avoid the largest concentration of crowds.
Should you need to leave the park, but feel like Main Street seems impassable, here is a trick;
Take the Railroad from either Frontierland or Mickey's Toontown Fair back to the front of the park. It will still be crowded by the station, but you will have missed one entire block of crowds that you would have had to work through just to get out.
